Privacy Policy

Astrosimpl is built on a simple belief: your birth chart and your questions belong to you. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

1. Who We Are

Astrosimpl is a Vedic astrology application. We provide AI-powered chart analysis and guidance grounded in classical Sanskrit astrological texts. We are not an astrologer marketplace and do not employ human astrologers.

For the purposes of this policy, "Astrosimpl", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the Astrosimpl application and its operators.

2. What We Collect

a) Account information

When you create an account, we collect your phone number (if you sign in via OTP) or your name and email address (if you sign in via Google). We use this only to identify your account.

b) Birth data

To compute your Vedic birth chart, we collect your date of birth, time of birth (optional), and place of birth. This is the core data that makes Astrosimpl work. It is stored securely in our database and linked to your account.

c) Conversation history

Your conversations with Astrosimpl are stored so that you can access them again and so that Astrosimpl can provide context-aware responses within a session. You can view all past conversations in the app.

d) Usage data

We track your credit balance, credit purchases, and message volume in order to run the app (deducting credits per question, enforcing rate limits to prevent abuse). We may also collect anonymous, aggregated usage metrics (e.g. which topic areas are most used) to improve the product. This data is never linked to your identity in any external analytics system.

e) Device & technical data

Standard server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and timestamps. We use this for security and to diagnose technical issues. This data is not shared or sold.

3. What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment card details. All payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. We receive only a transaction confirmation.
We do not collect health records, financial details, or any other sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily share in conversation.
We do not track you across other websites or apps.

4. How We Use Your Data

To compute your birth chart — your birth data is sent to our chart engine to generate your Vedic chart.
To personalise your experience — your chart is included in every AI conversation so responses are specific to you, not generic.
To maintain your conversation history — so you can refer back to previous sessions.
To enforce plan limits — message counts are tracked per day, per account.
To communicate with you — we may send transactional messages (e.g. payment confirmation, OTP). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

5. What We Will Never Do

These are unconditional commitments:

We will never use your conversations to train AI models — your questions, fears, and personal circumstances will never become training data for any AI system, including ours.
We will never share or sell your chart data — your birth data and computed chart are yours. They will never be shared with third parties, astrologers, or advertisers.
We will never display advertising — Astrosimpl is a paid product. Your data is not the product.
We will never share your data with human astrologers — Astrosimpl does not employ astrologers. No human will read your chart or your conversations without your explicit request.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in secure data centres. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth using industry-standard PKCE OAuth flows. We do not store passwords.

In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, birth chart, and conversation history within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data (you can update your birth details in the Profile section)
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (which will require closing your account)
Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

9. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Astrosimpl. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase — database and authentication
Anthropic — AI responses (your chart context is sent with each message; Anthropic does not use API data to train models)
OpenAI — knowledge base embeddings (anonymous passage retrieval only)
Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — city geocoding for birth location (search query only, no personal data sent)
Razorpay — payment processing (we never see your card details)

10. Children

Astrosimpl is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at astrosimpl@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the app before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Continued use of Astrosimpl after changes are notified constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
